Drenthe is not the most glamorous province. The population of the province has decreased in the recent years, making the province less and less interesting for young people. It is getting boring, many young people say. We asked ourselves: what makes Drenthe special? Stadskracht is an active field research project based on the social cohesion within Drenthe, true to trade, hospitality and healthcare by the inhabitants of communities. This project is an ongoing process of giving something and receiving. Bouke Bruins and I made a toolbox cabinet that doubles as a mini-museum. Offering a hand with a chore in exchange for a fact, story or object, we took the Stadskracht to the streets, collecting many objects. Each object tells a story about Drenthe. The treasures are collected in the cabinet and mapped on side of the toolbox. Participants were featured through visual documentations.
